This selection of snapshots was taken from the documentary Dive!: Living Off America’s Waste. It’s spectacular. It addresses a lot of our needless abuse of produce and the irony of millions of starving people in a nation of dumpsters full of perfectly edible food. Our societal drive for consumerism and appearing bountiful has turned food from a necessity to a commodity that we pay through the nose for. I am so so jealous of this man for being able to feed his entire family from his dives. When I have a method of transportation other than public, I will be doing this far more often. This unpretentious documentary is so simple and well-done. Definitely one of the more inspiring fifty two minutes I’ve spent on Instant Stream on Netflix.
